I was born
in Harpenden, Herts on 4 May 1950. I went to Roundwood
Park Junior and Secondary schools in the town and at 16
started a 5 year Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship at
Vauxhall Motors in nearby Luton, Beds. On completion of
my apprenticeship I joined the Mechanical Drawing Office
as a Design Draughtsman. I remained at Vauxhall for 22
years and since then have worked for various companies -
Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Cars, Tickford Ltd, Prodrive
and currently Lear Corporation in Dunton, Essex as a CAD Design
Engineer. I am married to Gillian (Longfoot) who is a Legal Secretary and works in High Holborn, London. My two sons Matthew and Daniel both work and their biographies are elsewhere on this site. I have an older sister Janet (Holland). We all live here in Harpenden, a mainly residential town of some 30,000 inhabitants approx 25 miles from central London. My main hobbies and interests are Golf - handicap 9, following Luton Town Football Club, Motor Sport and Local History. |
