1974-1979		Worked for Boral Limited as a Site Accountant, met wife (Barbara Lux). First child Richard born.
1979-1990		Worked for Carborundum Australia LTD, manufacturing subsidiary of BP Australia
1990-1995		Worked for BP Australia.as an Exporation Accountant for the New Guinea Gas & Oil Projects.
1995-now		Lived and worked in Melbourne for Village Roadshow Limited an International Cinema and Entertainment Group at various roles including Financial Controller for the Cinema Construction Divisions .

Personal Interests

Sport: (Tennis, Cycling, regular work outs at the Gym)

Belong to Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club (home of the Australian Open) & the MCC Cricket Club.

I am very passionate about my tennis and in my thirties was playing up to 5 times a week. It’s a miracle my marriage survived!

Sunday morning is for cycling and Melbourne has many wonderful cycling paths to explore.

Other Interests:

Since my son, (a Chartered Accountant) became a Stock Broker I have followed world political and economic events far more closely.

I enjoy a good game of Chess and backgammon and when I eventually retire will join a clubs in both these games.

I enjoy a good heavy reading book and am currently reading Henty Kissinger’s book, “Diplomacy”.

Story:

Thanks to the Saperia’s in Leeds Website I have been able to establish that the earliest male ancestor in my branch was Henry Saperia, born 1826. His son Pincus arrived in Leeds from Poland in either 1871 with his wife Fanny. Their first home was 1 Brewery St and he was a Shoemaker. Sometime after that date but before 1881 his Father Henry migrated to England and lived with Pincus & Fanny until he passed away. By the time of the 1891 Census Pincus & Fanny had born eight children, the fourth born Isaac was my great, grandfather. Two of his brothers, Louis & Myer are listed on the Saperia Website (refer branch no. 2 & 5).

My Maternal Grandmother migrated to Melbourne Australia in 1926 (on the Otranto) and stayed with the Rosenthal family in Carlton. In 1929 she married my late Grandfather Nathan Young. Nine months later my mother Essie was born and a year after that my Aunt Mona was born.

In 1938\Isaac & Rose visited their children living in Australia which by then included Henry (known as Ernie), Leah (known as Vicky) Julia & Esther. By all accounts they would have stayed on however in 1942 their daughter Rebecca suddenly died and they returned to Leeds to help look after her three children. Sadly not long after arriving back in Leeds both Rose & then Isaac passed away…. Very sad.
